Inspiration:Â Mountain goats, high places, mountain peaks

Description
This large wall mounted print is inspired by the mountain goats, often identified as the Ibex, in the bible. In Jewish tradition Psalm 102 is interpreted as not only that the mountain goats live in the high places, but in fact, that those mountains were made for them. In this view, even the most remote places and animals are the craftmanship of the Creator, as as Job reminds us, God knows them well.
The Ibex is a gentle animal who is fearful of becoming prey, it is said again in Jewish lore that God makes her frenzied when she needs to come down to eat or drink, making her beat her huge horns against the ground to scare away predators. The makers of this piece invite us to consider the ways of this animal, with its ability to navigate, nurture and take nourishment uniquely by God's provision and protection. But the views seen by the Ibex are enjoyed by few humans, yet we are reminded that we too will rise up and not lose our footing, just as they do. Variations of this print exist as part of our Mountains series.
The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs are a refuge for hyraxes.
