Description
This collection of photo prints focuses on being the salt of the world. This is a reminder of how Jesus used every day objects to communicate to many people about what it's like to be part of the kingdom of God.
We are expected to be pure, and to uphold honesty. When salt is used in great amounts, it's for the purpose of purifying something, and keeping it useful. When used in small amounts its purpose is only as a seasoning, a substance that adds to the flavour and enjoyment of the meal. In the same way, while the salt itself must be pure to gain the full benefits from it, we must discern how much is needed, and when to use it.
These reflections on the Teacher's words are here to show us that this is a worthy aspect of reflection and has much to teach us about how we are to be in this world if we are to serve and bless others in our lives yet still retain our purity and honesty when we do so, for their benefit as well as ours.
"Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”"
Mark 9:50
