Description

These beautifully hand crafted door hangings are inspired from the Jewish mezuzah tradition.  It serves as a reminder of God's presence and a declaration of faith. Once understood, it lends a weight to Jesus' explaining in his Jewish homeland that he was the way, the gate and He who stands at the door and knocks; the threshold being of such significance in Jewish tradition.

As one enters or exits the home, it is customary to touch or kiss the mezuzah, serving as a reminder of God's presence, a connection to one's faith, and a symbol of protection for the home. It's a beautiful tradition that has been passed down through generations, connecting Jewish households to their heritage and spirituality.

Cheerful is a Christian collective working in mixed media, largely based in Ireland & the UK. These artists prefer to remain anonymous under the umbrella of the collective name 'Cheerful'.
